Bumbles

Eegads!! It has been far too long since I have said hello to everyone! You know how it goes, time flies......and so do bumble bees. Having an overabundance of yellow clay that I'm not entirely sure where it came from, I have been thinking of ways to use it. Some colors really speak to me, and sadly yellow is one that remains mute in the far recesses of my creativity. But now I am so in love with these sweet little honey makers, yellow might actually start singing! Who knew?

High Tech Security

In this world of uncertainties the sad truth is that you sometimes have to take preventative measures for extra security. There are the obvious criminal masterminds bent on collecting clay cuties, and the more subtle yet equally dangerous children and family members seeking my attention for such mundane things as clean laundry or food. (I know) So I spent this last week upgrading my security system. Here is my super fabulous high tech security system of awesomeness. Also, I'm gearing up for all sorts of wonderful new items for your viewing and purchasing pleasure so I might be locking myself up in there to get some work done where I won't be distracted by the every day have-tos. So if you don't see me much this winter, drop me an email, send me a text, and drop some cookies at the door.

Fall

Ah fall, the time for campfires, toasting marshmallows, and football!

I'm not a huge football fan myself, but being the only gal in a house full of guys, I adapt. So I get out my clay and make my own adaptations of whatever mascots happen to be out there while the boys watch the game and offer their suggestions to the coachs, refs, and players. (As if they could hear them) Watch for your favorite game day animal soon!!

Inspiration...

To be honest all artist tanks occasionally run dry. Not that we are done creating by any means, no. It's just from time to time we find ourselves overwhelmed by the daily have-tos that we push our art to the back burner. At times like these it's good to go on a good old fashioned field trip and find some inpiration. Some sweet too cute to be true little goobers that just bring a smile to your face and the desire to recreate their likenesses. These just happen to be some such little fellows that I had the priviledge of making their acquaintences on one such recent pilgrimage.

Procurement of Wares

Where might one be able to purchase all the fine neckwares, headwares, shelfsitters, and whatever other brilliant whatnots come my way? Quite simple, actually. Feel free to drop me an email at anytime(not while your driving, safety first!) about any piece that you see. I can happily set up an invoice for you to pay through Paypal and can ship anywheres in the conjoined United States. Poor Hawaiia and Alaska. Is that how you spell Hawaiia? It looks weird. Blasted spell check! Back to the subject at hand, you may also set up to perouse the lovelies at the Bella Vista Flea Market, or arrange to pick up and pay your afforementioned and requested item off my FaceBook page there. Bella Vista Flea Market accepts cash, checks, and most credit cards. They stopped accepting chickens and firstborns as of 8/1/2010(sorry) Bella Vista Flea Market is located at 2878 Bella Vista Way, Bella Vista AR, just across highway 71 from the movie theater.
Perhaps the most fun and entertaining way to obtain said lovelies is to attend one of our semi-annual gallery shows!! Invitations and announcements will be made as to the location and time as I figure them out.

It ain't easy, bein' green

With all the environmental concerns today, many companies talk of "going green". You may ask, What is Sea Monkey Cove Trading Co. doing to be green? Many of my pieces include found objects, bits of gears, watch hands, broken vintage jewelry, all rescued from garage sales and flea markets, thus giving them new life. Or perhaps my mom's jewelry box. It happens.
In light of the BP disaster, we have been outfitting our creatures to adapt to new adverse conditons. Our little Aviator and Flopsom and Jetsom have been customized to excel in the oily conditions they might find themselves in. They are doing quite well. Keep a weathered eye on the horizone for future babies all geared up and ready to go!

Yes, I do elephants...

After being posed this question twice in a matter of just a few weeks, I seriously contemplated,"Do I do elephants?" As I told one poser of this question," I don't know, tell you what, I will try and if he turns out good I'll show you, if not, then no, I don't do elephants." Here is the answer to that question.
